How to remove api.mybrowserbar.com?

When I am browsing the web 7 times out of ten it diverts to this site and it says the website I am trying to visit is a broken link. I don't have any yahoo toolbars installed or anything. All I am looking for is a quick freeware program or some simple steps to remove this annoying piece of malware before I smash my laptop into 1000 pieces and go out and buy a new one. Thanks for all the help.
