Fast ways to cure sun-burnt peeling skin?

like sun-burnt dry peeling corn-flake-ish nasty pale skin. I don't mind not getting that tan, but i do mind walkin outside lookin like I dipped my face into my frosted flakes cereal. I heard aloe helps...like the aloe in my garden? are there any other options?
