Is Glen Beck An Actor?

I had drinks with a producer friend of mine from Hollywood. He told me that he had worked with Beck and that Glen Beck's background is in acting. He said that Beck was unbelievably cynical and just shot from the hip when doing his show for the ratings and the big paycheck. Personally, I don't believe my friend. I know that they really did work together, but I think Beck is a crazy person in real life.
