Is the world going to end in this date?

these people wayy wayy back had this "tool" to find predictions of the future world.They predicted many things such as the 911 plane attack.Now,the world is ageing and people say"Ah,global warming is going to destroy the earth".And"Pure water is running low".Well,these people predicted that everyone would get excited abut the earths warmth get warmer.We know-if u r christian-that god will never destoy the earth by water.Well heres my Q.They said that the world is gong to end in year 2012.Is this possible?
